Beverley had modelled many Wedding dresses for me, in Bridal Exhibitions, so when she got married she knew she wanted a traditional gown and that she did not want to wear ivory.
With my extensive catalogue of fabric samples, I was able to advise Beverley on colours and to make sure the shade of gold suited her skin colouring - a detail not easily available when you buy “off-the-peg.”
I also suggested the types of fabrics suitable to achieve the look she was after.
A layer of gold chiffon is gathered over ivory layers of tulle for a soft, floaty look. The skirt petticoat seemed to get bigger at each fitting!
Her gold silk dupion bodice was beaded around the neckline with pearls and gold beads.
